How to Download RedGifs Videos
Copy the RedGifs watch link – or simply the Reddit post the clip plays in – paste it into NSFWDL, and choose from the MP4 qualities that clip offers.
- Copy the link. On RedGifs, copy the watch page address. On Reddit, copy the post's own link – Share → Copy link in the app works too; NSFWDL finds the RedGifs clip in it.
- Paste it into the RedGifs downloader. NSFWDL checks the link and looks up the video's available MP4 qualities. No RedGifs account, browser extension, or developer tools are needed.
- Pick an available quality. Choose from the MP4 options actually listed for that item. RedGifs doesn't expose the same qualities, sound, or dimensions for every post.
- Download and check where it saved. Use the download action and check the browser's downloads area. On mobile, where the file lands depends on the browser and operating system, not on NSFWDL.
Reddit post links work too
A Reddit post that plays a RedGifs clip can be pasted as it is: NSFWDL follows it to the clip, from any NSFWDL page. Videos uploaded to Reddit itself currently fail on NSFWDL because Reddit refuses the requests – NSFWDL says so when that is the case.
Where the file actually comes from
The download stays on NSFWDL: the file is fetched and served back as a normal attachment, the same as every other supported source. No separate RedGifs tab or player opens, so there's nothing to right-click and save, and mobile browsers don't need their three-dot player menu either — the file just downloads.
Quality, sound, and size are not guaranteed
Not every RedGifs post has audio, and not every post offers the same set of qualities. NSFWDL lists only what that specific item actually exposes and does not promise HD, sound, or a fixed resolution across posts. Size and thumbnail evidence can also be missing for a given item — the download still works when that happens; there's just no size shown in advance.
If a RedGifs link doesn't work
- If it's a Reddit post, check that it plays a RedGifs clip; videos uploaded to Reddit itself can't be downloaded.
- The item may have been removed or made unavailable since the link was shared.
- A copied media or CDN address expires quickly — go back to the stable RedGifs watch page instead.
- RedGifs can briefly rate-limit repeated requests; wait a moment and try again.
What this doesn't do
This downloads one public RedGifs item at a time from its own watch link. It doesn't download a whole RedGifs profile, account, or search result, and it doesn't unlock private or removed content.

Can I paste the Reddit post link directly?
Yes. Paste the public Reddit post link, including the short link from the app's Share button, and NSFWDL follows it to the RedGifs clip.
Does every RedGifs video have sound?
No. Audio depends on the individual item. NSFWDL doesn't add sound that isn't there.
