How to Download RedGifs Videos

Reddit posts vs. the RedGifs link itself
A Reddit post that embeds a RedGifs clip is not the same address as the clip's own RedGifs page. Pasting the Reddit discussion URL into the RedGifs downloader will not work — open or follow the embed to RedGifs first, then copy that page's own address.
Where the file actually comes from
For an eligible RedGifs item — an MP4 with both video and audio — the download can open a new browser tab pointing straight at that file on RedGifs' own delivery network, rather than going through NSFWDL's server. If that tab plays the clip instead of saving it, use the browser's own save or download control (for example, right-click and "Save video as"). A RedGifs item without audio, or one that doesn't qualify for that direct path, downloads through NSFWDL's usual same-page flow instead.
Quality, sound, and size are not guaranteed
Not every RedGifs post has audio, and not every post offers the same set of qualities. NSFWDL lists only what that specific item actually exposes and does not promise HD, sound, or a fixed resolution across posts. Size and thumbnail evidence can also be missing for a given item — the download still works when that happens; there's just no size shown in advance.
If a RedGifs link doesn't work
- Confirm it's the RedGifs watch link itself, not the Reddit post URL.
- The item may have been removed or made unavailable since the link was shared.
- A copied media or CDN address expires quickly — go back to the stable RedGifs watch page instead.
- RedGifs can briefly rate-limit repeated requests; wait a moment and try again.
